I believe the true name of the degree is Business Management of Graphic Design, but it's been a few years since I have read the diploma. It is from The Bradford School in Pittsburgh, PA though. I'm sure of that.
Since graduation, I have been working in my field at a small print shop. Brochures, business cards, magazines, large format signage, logo designs, brand tool kits, vinyl decals, posters, postcards, and more. I have made it all and have been part of all the bindery processes.
Since my education and job title are graphic designer, designing is of course what most of my work day is filled with. I also work the front desk and handle many of the customers and orders that come through the main location. This job has taught me not only how to work customer service but how to juggle multiple jobs and tasks at once.
I am advanced in CorelDraw, proficient in Microsoft Office, proficient in Adobe Illustrator and Photoshop, and acceptable in InDesign. Over three years of experience in my field working on CorelDraw shifted my strong points. With practice and exposure though, once someone understands how to use a program, others like it are relatively easy to learn.
I was taught the Adobe Suite in post-secondary, have been using Microsoft Office since elementary school, and quickly picked up CorelDraw. From daily use and plenty of research, I became just as fast in Corel until it is now my fastest design program. I am working to increase my speed and familiarize myself with Illustrator, Photoshop, and InDesign again. Practice makes better.
I am currently working to teach myself how to use the OpenSource program Blender. 3D modeling has fascinated me for quite some time and I recently learned about CAD design. Blender has been working to allow its organic modeling program to model with precision accuracy. I would like to try my hand at product design or reconstruction. And the free price tag on such an amazing and powerful program doesn't hurt either.
